India Celebrates New Year 2025 With Devotion And Festivity

As 2024 came to an end, people across India welcomed 2025 with grandeur, devotion, and joy. Temples, ghats, and tourist destinations saw large gatherings, resonating with the sound of conch shells, clanging bells, and chants of prayer.

Highlights of Celebrations

  • Ayodhya
    The final Saryu aarti of 2024 took place at Ayodhya’s ghats, with devotees participating in large numbers. The rituals, led by priests, were accompanied by the enthusiastic involvement of foreigners who joined in the celebrations.
  • Vrindavan
    Huge crowds gathered at the Banke Bihari Temple and Prem Mandir in Vrindavan. Devotees offered prayers, performed rituals, and embraced the spiritual atmosphere to seek blessings for the coming year.
  • Puri
    The Jagannath Temple in Puri witnessed a massive influx of devotees. People also visited Puri Beach to mark the new year. “Extensive arrangements have been made by the police in Puri for the new year, especially at the Jagannath temple… Barricading has been done outside the temple… Our police teams are also checking different hotels,” said Odisha SP Vinit Agarwal.
  • Mussoorie
    The hill station of Mussoorie was abuzz with activity as tourists and locals celebrated the arrival of 2025 amidst the scenic beauty of the mountains. The town was filled with a festive spirit, marking a joyous start to the new year.
