India continued their dominant run in the T20 World Cup 2026, defeating the Netherlands by 17 runs in their final Group A clash on Monday, thanks to a stunning batting performance by Shivam Dube and a match-turning spell by Varun Chakravarthy.
Opting to bat first, India suffered early setbacks as both openers fell inside the powerplay. Abhishek Sharma endured a forgettable outing, registering his third consecutive duck. Despite the early collapse, India recovered strongly through a brilliant counterattack led by Dube.
Dube smashed 66 off just 31 balls, showcasing his power-hitting ability and lifting India to a competitive total. Captain Suryakumar Yadav (34), Hardik Pandya (30) and Tilak Varma (28) played crucial cameos to help India post 193/6 in 20 overs.

Netherlands Fight Back but Fall Short
Chasing 194, the Netherlands put up a spirited fight and managed 176/7 in 20 overs, but ultimately fell short of the target.
Varun Chakravarthy was the standout bowler for India, picking up three wickets, including two in two balls, to dent the Dutch chase. Shivam Dube also chipped in with two wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah delivered a disciplined spell to keep the pressure on the opposition.
India Enter Super 8 Unbeaten
With this win, India completed the group stage with a perfect record, winning all four of their matches in Group A. The Men in Blue now head into the Super 8 stage with strong momentum and confidence.
