New Delhi [India], May 25: BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, who will lead a high-level all-party delegation to Europe on Sunday, emphasized India’s firm stance against terrorism while reiterating the nation’s commitment to peace and harmony.
Prasad underscored that the safety of Indian citizens remains the topmost priority of the government. He described terrorism as a global menace, singling out Pakistan as a significant hub of terrorist activity.
“I will present India’s strong and clear position in European countries. We believe in peace and harmony, but if Indians are attacked by terrorists from across the border, there will be a resolute response — Operation Sindoor. Terrorism is a global cancer, and Pakistan is one of its main centers,” said Prasad.
Acknowledging the participation of opposition leaders in the diplomatic mission, Prasad praised Congress members and highlighted the unity of the delegation. “Congress leaders are doing good work abroad. This is a united representation of India — from Kashmir to Kanniyakumari, we are speaking the same language on terrorism,” he added.
The delegation, described as a “mini-India,” includes representatives from across the country: Thambidurai from Tamil Nadu, Daggubati Purandeswari from Andhra Pradesh, Amar Singh from Punjab, Samik Bhattacharya from West Bengal, MJ Akbar from Delhi, Ghulam Ali Khatana from Jammu and Kashmir, Priyanka Chaturvedi from Maharashtra, and former diplomat Pankaj Saran.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi also called for global collaboration in tackling terrorism, highlighting Pakistan’s long-standing links to terrorist groups like Al-Qaida and Jaish-e-Mohammad. “There should be zero tolerance for terrorism, as well as global accountability and a worldwide alliance against it,” she stated.
The delegation is scheduled to visit the UK, France, Germany, the EU, Italy, and Denmark. Their mission is to engage with international leaders, brief them on India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, and strengthen India’s global narrative against cross-border terrorism. Meetings are also expected in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria.
This diplomatic initiative includes members from seven political groups, each led by one MP, as part of India’s strategy to counter global misinformation and promote its policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
