Imran Khan Writes To Pakistan Army Chief, Calls For National Unity

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has written a letter to Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir, highlighting the reasons behind the growing gap between the military and the public, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed on Monday, as reported by ARY News.

According to PTI leadership, the letter discusses key national concerns and urges greater unity between the people and the armed forces.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar stated that Imran Khan wrote the letter in his capacity as a former prime minister and acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Pakistani armed forces.

Quoting Khan, he said:
“Pakistan Army is making great sacrifices. This country and army are ours. We do not want chaos, and it is necessary that the public stands with the army.”

PTI leader Faisal Chaudhry also confirmed the letter’s contents, stating that it emphasizes the sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers and the importance of national unity.

The letter addresses six major concerns, including:

  • Alleged electoral fraud in the February 8, 2024 elections
  • The 26th constitutional amendment
  • The Al-Qadir Trust case
  • Economic issues affecting the country

PTI leadership views these issues as critical to Pakistan’s political and governance landscape and believes they require direct engagement with military leadership.

This development follows Imran Khan’s recent letters to the judiciary. On January 31, he sent 349-page documents to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Aminuddin Khan, raising concerns about major political events.

The letters call for a commission to investigate incidents from May 9 and November 26, which have been significant in Pakistan’s political and legal discourse. Additionally, they highlight the alleged crackdown on PTI workers, detailing raids, arrests, and restrictions on party members.

Khan has also raised concerns about the electoral process, questioning the fairness of the February 8 elections.
