Odisha witnessed relentless rainfall on Thursday as a deep depression advanced towards the state’s coast, officials said. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in seven districts, while placing 16 districts under an orange warning and the remaining seven under a yellow alert.
Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as the weather system is expected to intensify, raising the risk of flooding and waterlogging in several low-lying areas.
