The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) today, with the warning remaining in effect until 6 p.m.
According to an IMD nowcast, South West Delhi, South East Delhi, South Delhi, and New Delhi are likely to experience moderate rains accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. A yellow alert is in place for the rest of the Capital, forecasting light rains and thunderstorms.
Heavy Rainfall in Adjoining NCR Regions
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reports that heavy to very heavy rainfall is highly likely in isolated places across the adjoining NCR. The forecast predicts intense downpours with thunderstorms over Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Karnal, Panipat, and Sonipat over the next three hours.
Residents are advised to stay updated on the latest weather advisories and take necessary precautions while traveling.
