New Delhi [India]: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a hailstorm and thunderstorm warning for Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh, predicting moderate to heavy rainfall and lightning within the next hour.
Additionally, the IMD forecasted light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in other parts of Uttar Pradesh, including Sahaswan, Badayun, Sikandra Rao, and Ganjdundwara.
Weather System Moving Away, Reduction in Activity Expected
The Meteorological Department stated that a major cloud mass linked to a western disturbance is moving away from India. Consequently, weather activity is expected to decrease in northwest India from today.
Currently, rainfall and thunderstorms are being observed over:
- Western and central Uttar Pradesh
- Bihar
- Western Himalayan region
- Extreme southern parts of India
Delhi Experiences Light Rain, AQI Remains in ‘Moderate’ Category
Delhi witnessed light showers on Saturday morning, affecting areas like India Gate, Teen Murti, and Central Secretariat.
As of 8 AM, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi stood at 136 (moderate category), as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

IMD Predicts More Rain and Thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR
The IMD had earlier predicted light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning across Delhi-NCR and neighboring areas on Friday. Additionally, gusty winds of 30-50 km/h are expected in the region over the next few hours.
