Tel Aviv, Israel — The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has confirmed the elimination of Salah al-Din Za’ara, the deputy commander of the Al-Furqan Battalion within the Hamas terror organization. Za’ara was killed in an operation on July 24, 2025.
According to the IDF, Za’ara had a significant role within Hamas, having previously served as the commander of the battalion’s combat support company. In this capacity, he was responsible for directing and advancing a wide range of terror operations targeting both Israeli civilians and IDF forces throughout the Gaza Strip.
The IDF’s announcement highlights the ongoing efforts to dismantle the command structure of terror organizations operating in the region.
