IAS Madhu Rani Teotia Appointed Secretary To Delhi CM Rekha Gupta

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Madhu Rani Teotia has been appointed as the secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, as per an order issued on Thursday. Along with Teotia, IAS officers Sandeep Kumar Singh and Ravi Jha were appointed as Special Secretaries to the Delhi CM.

The transfer and posting order was signed by Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. In another significant development, IAS officer Azimul Haque has been appointed as the CEO of the Delhi Waqf Board, while Sachin Rana has been named the Additional Electoral Officer, with the additional responsibility of being a Member of the Delhi Jal Board.

On the same day, six-time BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Delhi Assembly. His nomination was put forward by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Bisht, who won the Mustafabad constituency by a margin of over 17,000 votes, had recently defeated AAP’s Adeel Ahmad Khan.

In addition to these appointments, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, who also oversees the Finance Department, is scheduled to present the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report on ‘Public Health Infrastructure and Management of Health Services’ in the Delhi Assembly on Friday.

Sources say the report, based on the status of government hospitals and health services in 2024, will aim to “expose” the actual condition of health services in the national capital. This marks the second CAG report to be presented in the Assembly, and it will focus on government hospitals, mohalla clinics, and other health facilities operated by the Delhi government.

The CAG report will assess the discrepancies between the claims made by the previous government and the actual state of affairs. It will examine the availability of machines, supply of medicines, staffing levels, and patient facilities in government hospitals. Additionally, the report will look into whether the budget allocated to the health sector by the Delhi government during 2022-23 and 2023-24 was properly spent and whether it translated into tangible benefits for patients.
