IAEA Confirms No Radiation Leak After US-Israel Strikes On Iran’s Nuclear Sites; Iran Vows To Continue Program

Washington DC [United States], June 22: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that no increase in off-site radiation levels has been detected following recent airstrikes on Iran’s key nuclear facilities. The statement comes in the aftermath of coordinated U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites.

“Following attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran — including Fordow — the IAEA can confirm that no increase in off-site radiation levels has been reported at this time. Further assessments will be provided as more information becomes available,” the agency said.

The targeted facilities, especially Fordow — a deeply buried enrichment site — were struck by U.S. B-2 Spirit bombers using GBU-57 A/B “bunker buster” bombs, known as Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOP). CNN reported that Fordow was hit with a full payload of bombs, suggesting a high-impact operation intended to cripple Iran’s uranium enrichment capacity.

Iran strongly condemned the airstrikes, calling them a “savage aggression” and a flagrant violation of international law, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). In a statement, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) accused the U.S. of criminal behavior and denounced the IAEA for its “indifference” and “complicity.”

“This action, which violates international regulations, was carried out under the indifference—and even complicity—of the IAEA,” the AEOI said. It assured the Iranian public that the country’s nuclear efforts will continue. “With the dedication of thousands of revolutionary scientists, we will not allow this national industry—built on the blood of nuclear martyrs—to be halted.”

The Iranian government has demanded global condemnation and called on the international community to defend its right to peaceful nuclear development.

U.S. President Donald Trump, in his address from the White House, framed the strikes as a decisive blow against the Iranian nuclear threat. “There will be either peace or there will be tragedy for Iran, far greater than we’ve witnessed over the last eight days,” Trump said. He added that “many targets” still remain, and warned Tehran of additional strikes if a peace agreement isn’t reached.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump called the mission “perhaps the most lethal” and praised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying: “We worked as a team like perhaps no team has ever worked before.” He also commended both the Israeli and American militaries for what he called an unprecedented operation.

Trump was flanked by top officials — Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth — as he delivered his remarks at the White House.
