‘I Know My Truth’: Tanya Mittal Unfazed By Backlash Over ‘Terrorism Has No Religion’ Remark

MUMBAI – Tanya Mittal, a spiritual influencer and entrepreneur who is presently a competitor on Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss 19, said that the criticism around her views about the Pahalgam incident earlier this year didn’t bother her. Before going into the Bigg Boss house, Mittal talked to the Hindustan Times about the outrage she got for saying, “Terrorism has no religion.”

The trouble started in April, when Mittal broadcast a video after an attack on tourists in Pahalgam, South Kashmir, that killed 26 people. Her comment, “I, on the other hand, think terrorism has no religion,” sparked a heated argument and a lot of anger on social media. The backlash grew worse when the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department said she was never their brand ambassador, even though she had said so in her Instagram bio.

Mittal said in her interview that the incident didn’t affect her emotionally or professionally very much. She claimed, “I was traveling and making videos just 48 hours after the controversy happened.” “It didn’t really bother me. I know what is true for me.

Mittal thought more on how she was handling the situation. She added, “Evil wins that day if goodness has to step out to prove itself.” “Be a good person, and know that I am a good person. Get out of the place where people don’t respect your goodness.”

She also responded directly to the tourism department’s explanation, saying, “Someone mentioned something about me and they thought I didn’t fit in. But can they really say that and not admit that we had been working together for eight months? They basically made the point that when things go tough, no one is there for each other. And I’m glad they left me because now we can do more things in other states as well. So, is there anything that can stop me?

Mittal is already making a name for herself on Bigg Boss 19. She joins a cast that includes notable actresses and influencers including Awez Darbar, Nagma Mirajkar, and Ashnoor Kaur. The show started on August 24 and is available on Colors TV and JioHotstar. Some viewers have called her “irritating and self-obsessed,” while others have called her a “entertainer.” Her honest thoughts about the topic provide us a look into her nature.
