Mumbai: Actor Hrithik Roshan has sent his best wishes to superstar Rajinikanth in a heartwarming show of respect before the highly anticipated box office duel between their two films, War 2 and Coolie. Roshan went on X (previously Twitter) to honor Rajinikanth’s 50 years in Indian cinema, calling him “an inspiration and a standard.”
In his message, Hrithik warmly remembered their first time working together, saying, “I took my first steps as an actor with you. @rajinikanth sir, you were one of my first teachers, and you still inspire me and set the bar high. Congratulations on 50 years of magic on film! In the 1986 movie Bhagwaan Dada, they worked together. Hrithik played Govinda, the foster son of Rajinikanth’s character.
Fans have liked the kind gesture, and many have praised Roshan for being a good sport. One admirer said, “Clash a side, Rajini sir always be our teacher,” and another said, “Hope both movies do better at the box office.”
On August 14, the two movies will fight it out. War 2 is the sixth movie in the YRF Spy Universe. Hrithik Roshan plays Major Kabir again. Ayan Mukerji directed the movie, which also stars Jr. NTR and Kiara Advani.
Coolie, which is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and stars Rajinikanth, has been getting a lot of attention. The movie has a “A” rating (for adults only) and stars Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, and Shruti Haasan. This is Rajinikanth’s first A-rated movie in a long time. People say it’s a gritty action-drama in which Rajinikanth’s character fights a corrupt group. The movie also brings Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan back together after over 30 years. Khan is said to play a character named Dahaa.
Both movies are getting a lot of attention and are expected to have a historic box office showdown. The amicable exchange between the two stars has added to the excitement before the movies come out.
