“How To Train Your Dragon” Live-Action Remake Soars To Peacock Next Month

UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA – Next month, Peacock will show Universal Pictures’ live-action remake of “How to Train Your Dragon,” which was a big hit at the movie office this summer. The movie came out in theaters on June 13 and will be available to stream on October 10, 2025. This will give fans a fresh opportunity to enjoy the story just over 100 days after it came out in theaters.

The movie is based on the well-known children’s book series by Cressida Cowell and is a new version of the animated classic from 2010. It tells the story of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, a teenage Viking who lives on the Isle of Berk, where dragons are seen as a threat. Hiccup uses his creativity to make a tool that lets him catch a rare dragon, whom he eventually names Toothless. Their strange bond goes against what people in his town have always thought and shows that Vikings and dragons can live together in harmony.

When it came out in theaters, “How to Train Your Dragon” made a lot of money, bringing in $632.1 million around the world. This result helped the famous franchise, which includes the animated trilogy, make more than $2.2 billion around the world.

Peacock is going all out for the release, which is a gift for fans. The streaming service will also have the original animation trilogy, which includes How to Train Your Dragon, How to Train Your Dragon 2, and How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, starting on October 1. The live-action feature will come out on October 10. Subscribers will also get 90 minutes of special supplementary content from the live-action movie, such as deleted sequences and behind-the-scenes looks at how the movie was made.
