Mumbai, May 27: The Housefull 5’ Trailer launch event in Mumbai was a glitzy affair, bringing together an ensemble cast that included Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Johnny Lever, and leading ladies Nargis Fakhri, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Tarun Mansukhani were also present to unveil the trailer.
In a humorous twist, Sanjay Dutt, who plays a key role, was absent from the event — but his presence was felt in the form of a life-size cardboard cutout, with Akshay and Jackie posing playfully alongside it.
🌀 A Trailer Full of Twists, Tracks, and Throwbacks
The trailer opens with Nana Patekar’s voiceover, setting up a chaotic tale of a billionaire celebrating his 100th birthday on a luxury yacht and announcing his intention to pass on his inheritance to someone named “Jolly.” This sparks confusion, as three Jollys—Jalabuddin (Riteish), Jalbhushan (Abhishek), and Julius (Akshay)—step forward to claim the fortune.
The trailer teases a murder mystery, upbeat songs, classic Bollywood references, and the return of the franchise’s signature slapstick chaos. One standout moment had fans in splits: Jackie Shroff cheekily echoing son Tiger Shroff’s viral line “Choti bachchi ho kya?”, making it a crowd favourite instantly.
Also, the theme of Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff’s iconic film ‘Khalnayak’ plays during their trailer entry, reviving nostalgic excitement.
🎬 A New Spin with Alternate Endings
In a surprising revelation, producer Sajid Nadiadwala shared that Housefull 5 will feature multiple climaxes — a first for the franchise and rare in Indian cinema.
“Different shows will have different killers and climaxes. Imagine a 3 PM show ending one way and a 6 PM show another — this will happen in single screens and multiplexes alike,” said Nadiadwala.
He also added that he had been toying with the idea of such a format for 30 years and finally penned the story and screenplay himself after finishing Housefull 4.
🎭 All-Star Cast, Grand Release
Alongside the main cast, Chitrangada Singh, Chunky Pandey, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir also feature in this mega entertainer.
‘Housefull 5’ is set to release in theatres on June 6, promising fans a riot of laughter, mystery, and a whole new level of interactive cinema with its multiple-endings format.
