New Delhi [India] : Amid escalating security concerns following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, a high-level meeting was convened at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in the national capital on Tuesday.
Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan chaired the meeting, which was attended by Director Generals of the Border Security Force (BSF), Assam Rifles, National Security Guard (NSG), and senior officials from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The meeting comes as security forces intensify counter-terrorism operations across Jammu and Kashmir. Sources familiar with the matter said operations are ongoing at multiple locations, though updates remain confidential due to the sensitive nature of the missions.
On Monday, Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted raids at 13 sites in Doda district aimed at dismantling terrorist hideouts and acting against individuals involved in terror activities.
Additionally, Srinagar Police launched an extensive crackdown, searching 63 residences linked to Over Ground Workers (OGWs) and associates of banned terrorist outfits. The raids, carried out under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), followed due legal process with oversight from Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses.
The goal of the searches was to seize weapons, documents, and digital evidence to aid in intelligence gathering and prevent potential conspiracies or terrorist plots.
As the nation continues to mourn the victims of the April 22 attack, the Indian security apparatus remains vigilant, bolstering efforts to detect and neutralize threats across the region.
