Hitting A Wall With Your Workouts? Here Are 6 Pro Tips To See Real Progress

Are you spending a lot of time at the gym but not getting the results you want? You’re not the only one. Fitness expert Raj Ganpath says that this is one of the most prevalent problems people have when they lift weights. Ganpath gave six great recommendations in a recent video that can help you get stronger and recognize the improvement you’ve been working so hard to make.

  1. Don’t do more exercises; do less.
Many people think that in order to see results, you have to do a lot of different workouts every week. Ganpath says the opposite. “Do more exercises if you want to mix things up.” He says, “If you want to make progress, do fewer exercises and do them well.” He says to focus on the “six big ones”: the squat, deadlift, bench press (or push-up), overhead press, pull-up (or hang), and row. It’s much better to get really excellent at these basic motions with proper form than to change your routine all the time.
  2. Technique is more important than anything else
Ganpath says that technique is the most important thing, no matter whatever workouts you choose. To increase strength and avoid injury, you need to use the right muscles, which is why proper form is so important. He says that the key to getting stronger is “moving with good technique,” which includes engaging the right muscles.
  3. Pay more attention to how you feel than how many reps and how much weight you lift.
Don’t let statistics get to you too much. Ganpath says you should stop worrying about how many reps you’re completing or how much weight you’re lifting and instead focus on the mind-muscle connection. He says you should question yourself, “Where do I feel this?” Am I experiencing the proper muscles? He adds that if you can accomplish this and work hard, the numbers will take care of themselves.
  4. Get better at moving around
People often forget about flexibility and mobility, yet they are very important for success. Better mobility means you can move your body more freely, which lets you load it in better ways and, in the end, acquire strength faster. You will be able to do workouts better and with more power if your joints are more flexible.
  5. Don’t forget about food and sleep.
Ganpath says that progress doesn’t happen in the gym; it happens outside of it. “It happens when you sleep and when you give your body the right nutrients,” he explains. Taking care of your body by getting enough sleep and eating the right foods is just as vital as your workout.
  6. Be patient and chase effort.
Ganpath’s most crucial piece of advice is to change how you think. Don’t go for results; go after the work. You shouldn’t be asking yourself, “How quickly will I get stronger?” Instead, you should be asking yourself, “How hard can I work?” Can I do this all the time? He says that if you follow these six rules, your body will have to get stronger.
