Hina Khan Responds To Mrunal Thakur’s Apology Over Bipasha Video: ‘Can We Please End This Circus?’

An old interview with actress Mrunal Thakur that has come back to light has caused a new scandal. The actress is getting a lot of hate for what she said about Bipasha Basu’s body. In the video, a teenage Mrunal playfully labeled Bipasha “manly” and said she was “far better” than her. After a lot of people criticized her, Mrunal wrote an apology on her Instagram story.

Mrunal stated she was sorry in her post, saying, “As a teenager, I said a lot of dumb things.” I didn’t always know how important my voice was or how much words could hurt, even when they were meant to be funny. But it did, and I’m really sorry for that. She said that she never meant to body-shame anyone and that the statements were just “playful banter in an interview that went too far.”

Bipasha Basu hasn’t publicly responded to the apology yet, but she did post something vague on social media earlier that many people perceived as a veiled comment to the incident. “Get those muscles,” she said in her message, which advised women to embrace their power. “Strong women lift each other up.”

Hina Khan speaks up, but some online don’t like it.
When TV actress Hina Khan stepped in to support Mrunal, things took an unexpected turn. Hina published Mrunal’s apologies again in a long message on her social media. She said, “We all make mistakes, especially when we’re younger.” I can identify to Mrunal extremely well because I’ve made the same dumb mistakes in the past. Hina said nice things about both women. She called Bipasha a “icon” and Mrunal a “phenomenal” woman for admitting her mistake. At the end of her post, she begged everyone to “end this CIRCUS… let’s spread LOVE and be kind.”

But Hina’s involvement has sparked a new wave of criticism from internet users, who are now saying she got involved in a fight that doesn’t concern her. A lot of people on the internet have made fun of her for getting involved, saying things like “Begaani shaadi mein Abdullah deewana” and “Why’s she jumping in a conversation that has got nothing to do with her?” Some people on Reddit also said that Hina was “behti ganga mein haath dhona,” which means that she is milking the controversy to get attention for herself.

People are still arguing about it in public, with some supporting the call for forgiveness and kindness and others doubting the intentions of those engaged.
