Himachal Congress Begins Formation Of New State Committee With Focus On Inclusivity

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India]: As the Congress works to establish a new state committee in Himachal Pradesh, Minister Vikramaditya Singh emphasized that factors like caste, region, and local popularity will play a pivotal role in shaping the party’s structure.

“The process of constituting the executive members of the PCC, District Congress Committee, and Block Congress Committee is underway. Our in-charge, Rajeev Shukla, has formed a committee. The PCC President, the Chief Minister, and the Deputy Chief Minister will propose names for nomination. Every factor, from caste and region to the popularity of individuals in their areas, will be taken into account,” Singh told ANI.

He added that the party aims to finalize the new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) by the New Year, ensuring representation from all sections of Himachal Pradesh.

Focus on Strengthening the Organization
Congress leader Pratibha Singh highlighted the role of observers in identifying suitable candidates through community engagement.
“Observers have been tasked with engaging with people to identify suitable names. Those who have worked hard for the party will be given prominence. Every effort will be made to strengthen the organisation,” she said.

Grassroots Leadership Emphasized
AICC co-incharges Vidit Chaudhary and Chetan Chauhan, during extensive discussions with state leaders, underlined the importance of empowering grounded and hardworking party members.
“These workers will not only strengthen the Congress but will also work tirelessly for the prosperity and development of the state,” Chaudhary remarked.

Inclusive Deliberations
The ongoing deliberations include inputs from diverse party wings such as the Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, Kisan Congress, INTUC, and Seva Dal. The process involves district-level coordinators and stakeholders, ensuring inclusivity in the party’s restructuring efforts.

The four-day exercise is set to conclude with detailed discussions, after which the Congress will announce the new state executive. This restructuring aims to bolster the party’s grassroots presence and prepare for future challenges in Himachal Pradesh.
