The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) announced the Class 10th examination results on Thursday, revealing a pass percentage of 79.8% for the year.
A total of 117 students secured positions in the top ten ranks, with girls making a significant mark by claiming 88 of those spots.
Saina Thakur from Neugal Model School, Bhawarana, emerged as the state topper, scoring an outstanding 99.43%. Ridhima Sharma followed in second place with 99.2% marks.
The third position was shared by two students—Mudita Sharma from Modern Public Senior Secondary School, Swarghat, and Priyanka Sharma from Minerva Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin—each scoring 99.14%.
The results were declared during a press conference held in Dharamshala, attended by Board Chairman and Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa and Board Secretary Dr. (Retd Major) Vishal Sharma.
Meanwhile, earlier this week on Tuesday, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) also declared the results for Class 10th and 12th examinations.
On May 13, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla congratulated students who passed the CBSE Class X and XII exams.
In his message, Birla emphasized the value of dedication and perseverance in achieving academic milestones. He wrote on X, “Heartiest congratulations to all students who have cleared the CBSE Class X and XII examinations. Your success reflects sincere effort, discipline, and focus.”
The CBSE Class 10 exams were held from February 15 to March 18, and Class 12 exams concluded on April 4. This year, the Class 10 pass rate stood at 93.66%, while Class 12 recorded an 88.39% pass percentage.
Girls outperformed boys in both categories. In Class 12, 91% of girls passed—5.94% more than boys. Similarly, 95% of girls cleared the Class 10 exam, which was 2.37% higher than the boys’ pass rate.
A total of 22,38,827 students appeared for the CBSE board exams, and 20,95,467 successfully passed.
