High-Tech Kitchen Feeds Over 1 Lakh Devotees Daily At Maha Kumbh In Prayagraj

The Manav Dharm Shivir has unveiled a state-of-the-art kitchen facility to provide meals to more than 1 lakh devotees daily at the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj. The remarkable scale of the operation demonstrates the intersection of modern technology and traditional service at one of India’s most revered spiritual gatherings.

Key Features of the Kitchen:

  • Workforce: Over 500 cooks prepare the meals, while 2,000–3,000 volunteers manage food distribution and other services.
  • Machinery: Advanced equipment, including machines capable of producing 2,000 rotis per hour, automated rice cookers, vegetable cutters, and machines for making poori, are in use.
  • Capacity: This large-scale setup ensures the preparation of thousands of meals in a continuous and efficient manner to meet the demand.

A representative of the Shivir explained, “Without these machines, it would not be possible to feed so many people every day.”

Facilities for Devotees:

The Shivir offers 2,000 toilets, ample tents equipped with water supplies, and other essential amenities for the convenience of visitors.

CM Yogi Adityanath’s Visit:

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to attend a special program organized by the Shivir today (January 27), further highlighting the importance of this initiative.

Maha Kumbh 2025:

The Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years, continues to attract massive crowds, with over 110 million devotees participating during the first 14 days. The event, rooted in Sanatan Dharma, symbolizes a celestial alignment believed to create an auspicious time for spiritual cleansing and devotion.

Pilgrims throng to the Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers, to take a holy dip, believed to absolve sins and grant liberation (moksha).

Unprecedented Scale:

This year’s Maha Kumbh, running from January 13 to February 26, is expected to welcome over 45 crore visitors, marking it as one of the largest religious gatherings in history.

The innovative use of technology at the Manav Dharm Shivir showcases how traditional practices and modern advancements can coexist to serve millions during such monumental events.
