Motihari (Bihar): Security has been heightened along the India-Nepal border in the wake of Operation Sindoor, following the arrest of four Chinese nationals attempting to enter India illegally at the Raxaul border in East Champaran district.
The individuals—identified as Den Vizion, Lin Yungghui, Hi Kyun Hansen, and Huwaag Living—all residents of China’s Hunan province, were detained by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at the Maitri Bridge. They had no valid visas and were on foot, accompanied by two Nepali women.
Authorities initially detained the women for questioning. One of them, fluent in Hindi, Nepali, English, and Chinese, had Pakistani contacts saved on her phone. After verification, both were identified as guides and subsequently released.
The SSB recovered passports, five mobile phones, a bag, and 8,000 Chinese Yuan from the Chinese nationals. They were handed over to Haraiya police for further investigation. DSP Dhirendra Kumar of Raxaul confirmed the arrests and stated that an in-depth inquiry is ongoing.
This incident follows India’s recent precision strikes on nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under Operation Sindoor, conducted in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Since the operation, Pakistan has engaged in unprovoked small arms and artillery fire along the Line of Control (LoC), targeting civilian areas and causing widespread damage.
According to defence sources, 15 civilians have been killed and 43 injured in recent Pakistani shelling in Poonch and Tangdhar. India has responded proportionately and continues to monitor the situation closely.
