Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has been admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital for over a week and is currently under medical observation, his family confirmed on Tuesday.
His wife, Hema Malini, took to Instagram to share an update on his health, expressing gratitude to fans for their messages and prayers. Posting a recent photograph of the 89-year-old actor, she wrote,
“I thank everyone for their concern about Dharam ji who is in hospital for observation. He is being continuously monitored and we are all with him. I request you all to pray for his welfare and speedy recovery.”
The actress’s heartfelt post quickly went viral, with fans and celebrities flooding the comments section with messages of support and well wishes for the beloved star.
Family Visits at the Hospital
According to reports, Hema Malini was spotted arriving at the hospital on Monday evening to visit her husband. Shortly after, their sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol were also seen arriving at the facility to be by their father’s side.

In an official update, Dharmendra’s representatives reassured fans that the actor’s condition remains stable, though he continues to be monitored closely.
“Mr Dharmendra is stable and under observation. Further comments and updates will be shared as available. We request everyone to pray for his speedy recovery and respect the family’s right to privacy,” the statement read.
Dharmendra’s Recent Health and Work Updates
The legendary actor, who will turn 90 on December 8, 2025, has faced a few health concerns in recent years. Earlier this year, in April, he underwent an eye graft surgery but made a full recovery and resumed public appearances soon after.
Despite his age, Dharmendra has remained active in films. He was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
His next appearance will be in Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, starring Agastya Nanda (Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson) in his debut role. The film is slated for release on December 25, 2025.
