Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 3: Veteran actress and politician Hema Malini started her Friday with a heartfelt tribute to her mother, Jaya Chakravarthy, on her birth anniversary. Sharing a nostalgic message on Instagram, Hema expressed her gratitude for her mother’s influence on her life and career. “It is that day of the year closest to my heart! My darling mother’s birthday which I never fail to celebrate, thanking her for all that she’s done for me. Her amazing personality and the rapport she was able to create with everyone, both in the industry and beyond, shaped my career and made me what I am. Thank you, Amma. I love you,” Hema wrote, accompanied by a heart emoji.
Hema also shared cherished pictures of her mother, including one that beautifully captured the bond they shared. In response, her daughter, actress Esha Deol, left heart and folding hands emojis in the comments.
Hema Malini made her acting debut in 1963 with the Tamil film Idhu Sathiyam and later entered Hindi cinema with Sapno Ka Saudagar (1968). Her most recent appearance was in Shimla Mirchi (2020), alongside Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh. She currently serves as a Member of Parliament for Mathura, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Her mother, Jaya Chakravarthy, was a producer and costume designer. Hema frequently expresses her deep gratitude to her mother, often marking her birth anniversary with heartfelt messages.
