Heavy Rains Lash Delhi-NCR; Commuters Face Waterlogging And Traffic Snarls

NEW DELHI [India]: Residents of Delhi and the NCR woke up to pouring rain on Wednesday morning, as parts of the metropolitan area received heavy rainfall. The downpour has led to significant traffic snarls and widespread waterlogging, a recurring challenge for the city during the monsoon season.

This comes after a short but intense rain spell on Tuesday that also caused waterlogging in several parts of the national capital. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted light to moderate rain for Wednesday as well.

Wednesday morning’s rain further compounded the traffic issues that have become a hallmark of Delhi during the monsoon. Visuals from across the city showed heavy showers lashing different areas as residents prepared for their daily commutes.

The rainfall also extended across various parts of Delhi and the nearby region. Visuals showed similar scenes in Noida on Wednesday morning, with commuters grappling with the wet conditions and congested roads.

Authorities are yet to release official statements regarding the extent of waterlogging or any specific traffic advisories. Residents are advised to exercise caution and plan their travel accordingly.
