Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 22: Acclaimed Bollywood actress Tillotama Shome recently took to Instagram to warn her followers about an online impersonation scam targeting her identity. The Paatal Lok star revealed that a fraudster has been misusing her image and pretending to be her in order to solicit favours from others.
In a post shared on Monday, Shome uploaded a screenshot from WhatsApp showing a profile using a still from her Bengali film Shadowbox (Baksho Bondi) as the display picture. The imposter had allegedly been reaching out to people under the guise of being the actress.
Clarifying that the phone number associated with the account does not belong to her, Shome urged the scammer to cease all activities. “This is not my number. The photo being used as the DP is from our film @bakshobondifilm. It was since removed. To whoever you may be, please don’t use my name to ask the people I know for things. STOP,” she wrote.
Tillotama Shome is widely celebrated for her compelling roles in films and series like Angrezi Medium, Lust Stories 2, Delhi Crime, and The Night Manager. She most recently portrayed an SP in the gripping crime thriller Paatal Lok, created by Sudip Sharma and led by Jaideep Ahlawat.
