NEW DELHI— HDFC Bank has told its clients that the system would be down for maintenance on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 12:30 a.m. until 7:30 a.m. This project is part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to improve the banking experience by making it faster, more reliable, and more scalable.
The bank has put out a full list of services that will be affected during the seven-hour maintenance window.
Services That Will Not Be Available
UPI Services: All services linked to UPI for HDFC Bank account holders will be down. This includes sending and receiving money, paying merchants (both online and with a QR code), checking balances, and setting or changing UPI PINs.
NetBanking and Mobile Banking: All services, such as transferring money, paying bills, and checking your account, will be down.
ATM Services: You won’t be able to make cash deposits, transfer money, get mini statements, or take out cash without a card.
Outward NEFT and RTGS payments will not be possible for fund transfers. After the maintenance is done, inward credits will take longer to process.
You won’t be able to use the RuPay UPI Credit Card to scan and pay or make online payments through apps like Mobikwik and Shriram Pay.
Services With Limited Access
ATM and debit card services will be available, but there will be limits on how much cash you can take out and how many PoS transactions you can do. For example, Platinum and Millennia Debit Card holders can take out up to ₹20,000 from ATMs, PoS, online, contactless, and standing instruction transactions. Other card types may have lower limits.
There will be no changes to balance queries on ATMs, setting or changing PINs, or blocking or hotlisting cards.
Services That Will Not Be Affected
During the maintenance window, all credit card services and transactions will continue to work as usual. This includes checking your balance, changing your PIN, and card hotlisting, as well as online and point-of-sale transactions.
Important Information for Customers
Transactions that happen before 10:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, will have the same value date.
Transactions made after 10:00 p.m. on September 12 will be given a value date of September 13.
HDFC Bank has suggested that people use their PayZapp Wallet instead of cash to make payments while the system is down.
Customers should organize their important banking activity around the repair period to avoid any problems.
