Rewari: Police said on Friday that Assistant Sub-Inspector Krishna Kumar, who was stationed in Gurugram, allegedly hanged himself at his family’s home in Jainabad village.
Authorities found a suicide note in which Krishna Kumar blamed his wife and her parents for bothering him.
Information about the event
Police say that Krishna Kumar killed himself in his room on Thursday. When Nardev Singh saw that his son wasn’t opening the door, he called the police. The police kicked down the door and found him hanging from the ceiling. They took the deceased into custody and transported it for an autopsy.
Krishna Kumar is said to have written in the message that he was mentally distressed after his wife filed a FIR against him in Delhi, which he said was harassment.
“My daughter-in-law filed a complaint against my son Krishna Kumar in Delhi, and he was mentally harassed and stayed home in distress.” Nardev Singh said, “Krishna killed himself because his wife Indu’s FIR drove him crazy.”
Krishna Kumar and his wife, Indu, had two kids. They live with Indu’s parents. Indu has been teaching in Delhi for approximately two years now.
After that, the Khol police filed a FIR against Indu, her father Nawal, and her mother Saroj Devi under sections 108 and 3 of the BNS.
Inspector Gajraj Singh, the head of Khol’s police department, said that the postmortem is done and that the inquiry is still going on.
Krishna Kumar had worked for the Haryana Police since December 2004.
What happened before the recent suicides in the Haryana Police
This case comes after a number of high-profile suspected suicides among Haryana police officers:
Y Puran Kumar, an IPS officer from the 2001 batch, is said to have killed himself on October 7. In his note, he said he was being harassed and discriminated against because of his caste.
Later, ASI Sandeep Kumar shot himself in Rohtak, saying that Puran Kumar was corrupt.
The events have made many worry about mental health, workplace harassment, and the police’s ability to hold people accountable in Haryana.
