Haryana and Rajasthan Governments On High Alert As Indian Army Repels Drone Attacks From Pakistan

Chandigarh/Jaisalmer [India]: In light of escalating tensions along the western border, the Haryana and Rajasthan governments have taken urgent administrative measures following multiple drone attacks and ceasefire violations by Pakistan

In Haryana, the Chief Secretary’s Office has issued strict instructions directing all officers and employees of government departments, boards, corporations, undertakings, and universities to remain at their respective headquarters or stations until further notice. The directive explicitly bars officials from leaving their posts until additional orders are issued.

Meanwhile, in neighbouring Rajasthan, state officials confirmed that Indian armed forces successfully neutralised several Pakistani drones near border areas. Rajasthan Minister Jogaram Patel confirmed that air defence systems intercepted and destroyed incoming drones late Thursday night.

“Our armed forces gave a befitting reply. We share a border of around 1,000 km with Pakistan, and our forces anticipated threats to areas like Jaisalmer and Jodhpur. The public in these areas actively supported our defence efforts,” Patel told ANI.

He added that all government personnel posted in border regions have been directed to cancel their leave and remain alert. “Departments are fully mobilised, and the Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is personally monitoring the situation,” he said.

Rajasthan Home Minister Jawahar Singh Bedham echoed the statement, emphasizing the state’s commitment to assisting both military forces and civilians. “Our army thwarted drone attacks meant to target civilians. The CM has convened a high-level meeting to ensure preparedness. Vacant administrative positions have been filled, and additional police and RAC companies have been deployed to the border regions.”

The developments come after the Indian Army confirmed that on the intervening night of May 8–9, Pakistan launched a coordinated offensive involving drone attacks and multiple ceasefire violations (CFVs) along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

A statement from the Indian Army said:
“Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the Western Border. Numerous CFVs also occurred along the LoC. All attacks were effectively repelled, and India responded with force. The Indian Army is resolute in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation.”

In a major counteroffensive on Thursday, Indian forces shot down over 50 Pakistani drones along the LoC and International Border as part of a sweeping counter-drone operation. Security across border districts remains on the highest alert as military and administrative coordination continues.
