By the 10-over mark, SRH were 69/3, with Kishan on 33* and Aniket Verma on 8*. Kishan’s impressive innings came to an end at 44 off 34 balls (5 fours, 1 six) when he was caught by Sam Curran off Noor Ahmed in the 12th over.
The 100-run milestone was reached in the 14th over, but SRH lost another wicket soon after, as Aniket Verma (19 off 19) was caught by Hooda, again off Noor Ahmed, reducing them to 106/5.
Kamindu Mendis and Nitish Kumar Reddy then stitched together a calm and calculated partnership, with just 13 runs needed from the final three overs. SRH crossed the finish line at 155/5 in 18.4 overs, with Mendis unbeaten on 32 from 22 balls (3 fours) and Reddy contributing 19* off 13 balls (2 fours).
Noor Ahmed was CSK’s standout bowler, finishing with 2/42.
Earlier, SRH delivered a sharp bowling performance to bundle CSK out for 154 in 19.5 overs. After electing to bowl, captain Pat Cummins was rewarded with disciplined performances across the board, led by Harshal Patel’s brilliant spell of 4/28.
CSK’s innings began on a disastrous note with Shaik Rasheed dismissed for a golden duck by Mohammed Shami. Sam Curran, promoted up the order, managed only 9 runs before falling to Patel.
Ayush Mhatre showed some promise with a quickfire 30 off 19 balls, laced with six boundaries, but was removed by Cummins. Jadeja’s 21-run effort was ended by Kamindu Mendis.
Dewald Brevis offered the only major resistance for CSK, hammering 42 off 25 balls (4 sixes, 1 four) before a stunning catch by Mendis off Patel ended his knock. Shivam Dube added 12, and MS Dhoni could only contribute 6 before also falling to Patel, who later completed his four-wicket haul by dismissing Noor Ahmad.
Deepak Hooda’s late 22-run cameo helped CSK go past 150, but Jaydev Unadkat dismissed him in the final over. Cummins and Unadkat both bagged two wickets, while Shami and Mendis took one each.
