Washington [US]: Hailey Bieber has candidly addressed ongoing public criticism surrounding her marriage to pop star Justin Bieber, asserting that even after seven years—and the recent arrival of their first child—the judgment hasn’t stopped.
“Well, I thought seven years in it would’ve already, and it hasn’t,” Hailey told People.
“You would think after having a child, people would maybe move on, chill out a little bit, but no… So I guess these bitches are going to be mad.”
The couple, who married in a civil ceremony in 2018 followed by a grand wedding celebration in 2019, welcomed their first child, Jack Blues Bieber, on August 23, 2024.
Justin’s Public Apology and Reflection
Justin Bieber also took to Instagram recently to share candid reflections, posting images from a recent shoot with Hailey and revealing a past moment of tension between them.
“Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight,” he captioned a now-edited post. “I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue. Yikes, I know, so mean.”
He explained that at the time, he was reacting from a place of hurt and immaturity, but has since come to understand the importance of connection over conflict.
“As we mature, we realize we’re not helping anything by getting even… We’re just prolonging what we really want, which is intimacy and connection,” he wrote, adding a heartfelt apology:
“So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a Vogue cover—clearly I was sadly mistaken.”
The caption was later replaced with a series of emojis, but not before fans caught the vulnerable admission.
Navigating Scrutiny in the Public Eye
Hailey revealed how difficult it’s been to “make people understand who I am.” Every time she tries to set the record straight, she’s accused of lying.
Leaning on her husband for support, Hailey shared that Justin has been a guide through the relentless glare of public attention.
“I’ve learned so much from Justin, really,” she said. “He’s been doing this literally since he was a child… He told me, ‘Baby, trust me, I’ve been here before many, many times. You’re not going to win. There is no winning.’”
Justin echoed this sentiment, saying:
“I’ve done a lot of dumb things in my life, but the smartest thing I’ve ever done was marry Hailey.”
