Washington [US]: Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld has confirmed her return as the voice of Gwen Stacy in the upcoming animated film Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, set to release on June 4, 2027.
Speaking with Josh Horowitz in an interview, Steinfeld shared insights into her work on the third installment of the Spider-Verse series. As reported by Deadline, she confirmed recording sessions have already begun.
“We’re well into that thing,” she said.
Although she appeared cautious about revealing too much, Steinfeld emphasized trust in the creative process behind the Marvel production.
“You’ve gotta trust the process.”
“If there’s one thing I’ve learned with that — it’s that,” she added. “You put it in their hands and you’re gonna end up with something masterful. So just gotta go with it.”
Steinfeld first voiced Gwen Stacy in the critically acclaimed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), followed by Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). She will reprise the role in the final chapter of the trilogy, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
When asked about the possibility of seeing her return in a live-action superhero role, Steinfeld responded:
“I sure hope not.”
Notably, Steinfeld was absent from the official cast announcement for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, though Marvel hinted that more names would be revealed in due time. When asked about not being listed among actors-turned-directors in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Steinfeld skillfully avoided revealing any spoilers.
