Washington [US], May 18: Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow recently spoke about her budding friendship with Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and addressed circulating rumors suggesting a rift between the two.
In an interview reported by People, Paltrow revealed that although they haven’t spent much time together in person, she and Meghan have maintained a friendly connection. “We have a text friendship so far. I’ve been travelling quite a bit,” she said.
Responding to online speculation about a feud, Paltrow stated, “I don’t like it when people try to pit women against each other.” She emphasized her belief in female solidarity and dismissed the idea of competition among women.
Paltrow also commented on the possibility of appearing in season 2 of Meghan’s Netflix series With Love, Meghan, saying, “Sure! Why not? You never know. I don’t bake that well, but I can always try.”
In March, she further clarified her stance, saying, “I’d never view Meghan as competition. I was raised to see other women as friends, not foes. I think there’s always more than enough to go around. Everybody deserves an attempt at everything that they want to try. Another woman is never your competition.”
Meghan Markle recently launched her lifestyle brand alongside a new cooking and gardening series. She shares two children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, with her husband Prince Harry.
Paltrow, meanwhile, founded her own lifestyle brand, Goop, which began as a newsletter in 2008 and has grown into a globally recognized name in wellness and lifestyle.
The two also addressed the rumored tension during a Q&A on Paltrow’s Instagram Stories. When a fan asked about the supposed “beef,” Paltrow replied, “I genuinely do not understand this at all, whatsoever.”
