Political Fallout:
The murder sparked a wave of political outrage:
Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav took to X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“Criminals, protected by the government, shot at a patient admitted to a Patna hospital. Is anyone safe in Bihar? Did such an incident happen in Bihar before 2005, during the RJD’s rule?”
Independent MP Rajesh Ranjan (Pappu Yadav) also slammed the Nitish Kumar-led state government:
“Law and order have completely collapsed in the state. I would demand the imposition of President’s rule when I meet the governor. Criminals are being killed on the basis of their castes,” he claimed.
Tejashwi Yadav also attempted to visit the hospital but was stopped by security personnel at the gate, reported PTI.
Second Murder in Patna on the Same Day:
In another incident, a man identified as Shubham alias Bunty was murdered outside his residence in Shahpur, Patna.
“The deceased was attacked with sharp-edged weapons. His body has been sent for post-mortem,” said Patna City SP (West) Bhanu Pratap Singh. A probe is underway, though the motive behind the attack is not yet known.
