POONCH, JAMMU, AND KASHMIR – There is a gunfight going on right now between security personnel and militants near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir. This is happening because the terrorists tried to cross the border.
Late Tuesday night, in the Kalsian-Gulpur area of the Degwar sector, Indian Army troops stopped a group of two to three terrorists who were trying to cross into Indian territory.
Two terrorists are thought to have been neutralized during the continuous exchange of fire, but it was not known right away whether they were dead or hurt. As the operation goes on, people are waiting for official confirmation of these events.
The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps confirmed the news by posting on the social networking site X (previously Twitter) and said, “#WhiteKnightCorps Contact with #Terrorists.” Our troops saw two people moving along the fence in the general region of #Poonch Sector, which made them suspicious. Gunfire was exchanged. “Operation in progress.”
This incident shows how terrorists are often trying to get into Jammu and Kashmir across the LoC, and how Indian security forces are always on the lookout for these attempts. The Poonch district, which is bordering the LoC, has always been a dangerous place where people try to sneak in.
