Gujarat Titans’ Arshad Khan Confident Ahead Of IPL Eliminator Clash Against Mumbai Indians

New Delhi [India]: As the Indian Premier League (IPL) enters its high-stakes play-off phase, Gujarat Titans (GT) pacer Arshad Khan shared insights into the team’s preparations and mindset ahead of their upcoming Eliminator clash against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Friday.

Speaking to the media, Arshad expressed confidence in GT’s readiness and revealed that the squad has thoroughly analyzed past performances to rectify mistakes and fine-tune strategies.

“We are making good preparations for the play-offs. We have discussed the mistakes that we have made in the past. And we are preparing to make it better. And we are planning well for the upcoming matches,” said Arshad Khan.

Middle Order Strength Remains Unseen but Intact

Dismissing concerns about Gujarat’s middle-order depth, Arshad stated that it hasn’t been “exposed” simply because the top-order performances have been strong. He assured that the middle and lower order are equally capable.

“I think our middle order is not getting exposed. So, no one knows how strong our middle order is… And our lower order is also very good. So, I think that is why everyone is not getting exposed. But it is nothing like that. Our middle order is very strong. And we are preparing for the upcoming matches.”

Looking Back to Move Forward

Reflecting on their last group-stage game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Arshad acknowledged the team underperformed but is determined to use the upcoming Eliminator as a stepping stone to reach the final.

“I think our last game was not that good. But now that we are talking about our eliminator, whether we play the eliminator or the qualifier, it is important to win. So, we are getting to play an extra game, which is God’s plan. So, we will try to play an extra game and reach the final and then win the final.”

IPL Play-Off Scenario

  • Punjab Kings have finished at the top of the standings.
  • Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured the second spot and will face Punjab Kings in Qualifier 1 on Thursday.
  • Gujarat Titans, now placed third, will face Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator on Friday.
