Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India]: In a strategic move to solidify its role as India’s industrial powerhouse, the Government of Gujarat has launched an ambitious initiative to revamp its industrial policy framework, aligning it with the national development roadmap of Viksit Bharat @2047 and the state’s vision of ‘Viksit Gujarat se Viksit Bharat’.
According to a press release from the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the new initiative will focus on crafting a data-driven, future-ready policy that fosters investment, innovation, and socio-economic growth.
To steer this transformation, the government has established 12 specialized Task Force Committees. These expert panels will evaluate current policies, benchmark them against global best practices, identify structural gaps, and formulate strategic responses to emerging economic and technological challenges.
Each task force will be composed of a cross-section of stakeholders, including representatives from industry associations, chambers of commerce, academic institutions, and research organizations. This ensures a collaborative and inclusive policy formulation process.
“This initiative builds on Gujarat’s strong legacy of progressive industrial policy which has historically attracted investments, created jobs, and built robust infrastructure,” the statement from the CMO said.
The policy overhaul is intended to position Gujarat as a premier destination for both domestic and international investment, while also supporting India’s broader economic ambitions over the next two decades.
The recommendations from the task forces are expected to shape a new generation of industrial policies designed to drive Gujarat’s economic transformation and contribute to India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.
