Gujarat CM Allocates Rs 2 Crore Additional Grant For Women MLAs’ Constituency Development

Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], March 11: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced an additional grant of Rs 2 crore for the women members of the State Legislative Assembly for the development works in their constituencies for the year 2025-26.

This additional Rs 2 crore grant is over and above the fixed grants already provided for public welfare projects. As a result, each of the 14 women MLAs in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly will receive the additional amount to fund various road development projects in their respective constituencies.

The women MLAs personally met with CM Patel at the Assembly office and expressed their gratitude for this development-oriented initiative. Furthermore, the Chief Minister encouraged each woman MLA to allocate Rs 50 lakh from the Rs 2 crore towards the “Catch the Rain” campaign, which aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for rainwater harvesting and irrigation.

Earlier in the day, a grand ceremony was held in Ahmedabad to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Pujya Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj. The event was attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and CM Bhupendra Patel, along with renowned social worker Pavan Sindhi. A commemorative coin worth Rs 150 was released to honor Pujya Maharajji’s life and teachings.

The event was organized by the Buddhivani Foundation, which promotes the legacy and teachings of Pujya Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj, emphasizing non-violence, truth, and compassion.

Additionally, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently upgraded 69 municipalities to transform Gujarat’s cities into dynamic, vibrant, and sustainable urban centers. This initiative is in line with the vision of Viksit Gujarat and Viksit Bharat, as outlined by Prime Minister Modi, aiming to enhance infrastructure, public amenities, and the overall quality of life for urban residents.
