Assam Govt To Donate GST Share From Zubeen Garg’s Final Film ‘Roi Roi Binale’ To His Foundation

The Assam Cabinet makes a special decision to honor Zubeen Garg.

On Wednesday, the Assam Cabinet made a big decision to recognize Zubeen Garg, one of the region’s most loved artists. The government will provide the Kalaguru Artiste Foundation, a non-profit group started by the late singer himself, the state’s part of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) received from tickets to Garg’s upcoming movie, Roi Roi Binale.

According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the central government charges 18% GST on movie tickets that cost more than ₹100 and 5% on tickets that cost less than ₹100. Half of that, or 9% and 2.5%, goes back to the state. Today, after talking with Garg’s wife, Garrima, we determined that this part of the GST will go to the Kalaguru Artiste Foundation.

Keeping Zubeen Garg’s legacy of kindness alive

Zubeen Garg started the Kalaguru Artiste Foundation to help artists in medical problems, provide students money, and help with flood relief operations in Assam. The Chief Minister said, “This move will help carry on the work and ideals that Garg started the foundation with.”

Garg, who was 52 years old, sadly died last month in Singapore while swimming in the ocean. Two different investigations have been started by the authorities to look into the circumstances of his death.

Zubeen Garg’s last movie role was in “Roi Roi Binale.”

On October 31, Zubeen Garg’s last movie, Roi Roi Binale, will come out in theaters. In it, he plays a blind singer. Fans and movie lovers are both very excited about the movie.

There will be more than 90 screens in Assam and about 70 screens in India, including major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.

Most single-screen theaters and multiplexes in Assam have chosen not to show any other movies during the first week of Roi Roi Binale’s release to honor his last performance. Some theaters are even showing movies at 6 a.m. and going on until midnight.

To honor Garg’s cinematic goodbye, several theaters in tiny towns that had been closed for years have reopened and fixed up their spaces.

Record-Breaking Advance Bookings

The first 3–4 days of advance bookings for Roi Roi Binale are sold out, according to data from BookMyShow. This means that this is the best opening ever for an Assamese film. Fans are excited for the release because they see it as more than simply a movie. They see it as a farewell tribute to the singer, composer, filmmaker, and poet who changed Assamese music and movies forever.
