Government Announces 19th Installment Of PM-KISAN Scheme, Benefits To Over 34 Lakh Farmers

Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India]: The Indian government is set to release the 19th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, benefiting 34,95,147 farmers nationwide. This announcement was made by Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary of Odisha’s Agriculture Department. The release ceremony will be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will attend the event in Bihar.

In addition to the central government’s PM-KISAN scheme, Odisha has launched its own initiative, the CM-KISAN scheme. This state-specific program provides financial assistance of Rs 4,000 annually to eligible farmers, distributed in two installments of Rs 2,000 each.

The Odisha government has recently undertaken a special drive to enroll more eligible farmers, adding over 3 lakh new beneficiaries to the scheme. The CM-KISAN initiative primarily aims to support small, marginal, and landless farmers by improving their livelihoods and agricultural practices.

Padhee elaborated, “The Prime Minister will release the 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme today, benefiting 34,95,147 farmers. Through our special drive, we have successfully included more than 3 lakh farmers. Additionally, under the CM-KISAN scheme, farmers in Odisha receive Rs 4,000 annually in two installments.”

The CM-KISAN scheme is part of Odisha’s broader strategy to promote agricultural growth and development in the state. With combined support from both the PM-KISAN and CM-KISAN schemes, farmers in Odisha stand to benefit significantly, improving their agricultural practices and financial stability.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially released the 19th installment of PM-KISAN during a public gathering in Bhagalpur, Bihar. The event was attended by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who also inaugurated several developmental projects.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed pride in having PM Modi release the installment from Bihar, stating, “It is a great fortune for us that the Prime Minister is releasing the PM-KISAN funds for farmers from Bihar. Over 76,000 farmers here will benefit from this important scheme, which directly supports farmers.”
