Global Support Grows For India’s Anti-Terror Stand As Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Supriya Sule-Led Delegation Visits Ethiopia

As part of India’s post-Operation Sindoor diplomatic offensive, BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy has underlined growing global unity against terrorism and support for India’s right to self-defense, asserting that “nobody is in Pakistan’s favour.”

Speaking from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where an all-party Indian delegation met with the African Union Peace and Security Council, Rudy told media:

“Nobody is in Pakistan’s favour… All nations stand with India’s right to respond. India is bringing the world on one platform against terrorism.”

African Union Stands with India

Highlighting the African Union’s support, Rudy noted:

“The African Union is standing with India… They said that whether terrorism is in Africa or in India, they are against it.”

He further emphasized:

“The entire world is getting the message that Pakistan is a terrorist state.”

India-Africa Dialogue on Counterterrorism

Led by NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule, the Indian delegation engaged in comprehensive discussions with AU leaders. Rudy praised the AU’s solidarity, stating:

“We appreciate the thoughts and solidarity which they have expressed… Thank you for supporting the cause of India.”

The delegation was welcomed at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa by Ambassador Anil Kumar Rai and held meetings with:

  • Adem Farah, Vice President of Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party
  • Hailemariam Desalegn, former Ethiopian Prime Minister

Desalegn stressed the importance of international coordination:

“Terrorism is a global problem… especially when terrorism is state-sponsored, it is a very dangerous one. The Global South must cooperate and be strong in this fight.”

Operation Sindoor: A Defining Moment

Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor was India’s decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 civilians. The Indian Armed Forces:

  • Eliminated 100+ terrorists linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen
  • Targeted terror camps in Pakistan and PoJK
  • Responded to cross-border retaliation from Pakistan with coordinated strikes on 11 airbases

A ceasefire understanding between India and Pakistan was announced on May 10, but India’s global diplomatic campaign continues unabated.

Seven Delegations, One Message: Zero Tolerance to Terror

The Modi government has dispatched seven all-party delegations to 35 countries across Africa, Europe, East Asia, West Asia, and the Americas, including:

  • South Africa, Ethiopia, Liberia, Congo, Sierra Leone
  • France, UK, Germany, EU, Italy, Denmark
  • Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Singapore
  • Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar
  • USA, Brazil, Panama, Guyana, Colombia
  • Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, Russia, Egypt

The goal: inform global leaders about Pakistan’s links to terrorism, India’s right to defend its citizens, and call for united global action.

Final Note

The visit to Africa, led by seasoned parliamentarians like Supriya Sule, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, and Manish Tewari, reflects India’s robust bipartisan commitment to addressing terrorism as a global menace. As India strengthens ties with the Global South, the message is clear: Terrorism has no place in a peaceful world order.
