New Delhi [India]: Following the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar has been engaging with world leaders to strengthen international support against terrorism and express India’s gratitude for their solidarity.
In his latest outreach, Jaishankar held a telephonic conversation with Swiss Federal Councillor Ignazio Cassis, during which he appreciated Switzerland’s support and solidarity in the aftermath of the attack.
“Appreciate the telecon with Federal Councilor Ignazio Cassis of Switzerland. Thanked him for his support and solidarity. We agreed on zero tolerance for terrorism,” Jaishankar posted on social media platform X.

Earlier, Jaishankar also spoke with Kaja Kallas, Vice President of the European Commission, to discuss the Pahalgam terror strike. He welcomed the European Union’s strong condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations.
“Good to speak with EU HRVP Kaja Kallas this evening. Discussed the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Welcome European Union’s strong condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations,” Jaishankar posted.
The United States also joined the global chorus of support. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, in a conversation with Jaishankar, expressed deep sorrow for the loss of lives in the Pahalgam attack and reaffirmed the US commitment to working with India against terrorism.
In a statement released by US State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, Rubio emphasized the importance of regional peace and encouraged India and Pakistan to work toward de-escalation and stability in South Asia.
“The Secretary expressed his sorrow for the lives lost in the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam and reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to cooperation with India against terrorism,” the statement read.
The recent attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which targeted tourists and civilians, has drawn international condemnation and renewed diplomatic focus on counter-terror cooperation with India.
