Television actor Gaurav Khanna, who won Bigg Boss 19, recently found himself at the centre of online discussions after a clip from one of his vlogs went viral. In the video, the actor appeared to say that he had not yet received the prize money from the reality show hosted by Salman Khan, sparking speculation among fans on social media.
However, Khanna has now clarified the situation and confirmed that he has already received the full prize amount.
Speaking to Times Now, the actor explained that the clip circulating online was from an older vlog and was taken out of context.
“Actually, this is being blown out of proportion. It’s from a vlog which was recorded nearly 40 days back, when I was travelling to my hometown in winters, but it got released some time back, so people thought it was a new recording. It isn’t,” he said.
Khanna added that the payment had been processed in the meantime and urged people not to create unnecessary controversy around the issue.
“I have, in the meantime, received my full prize money. Also, in TV, the timelines take some time, which I have clearly mentioned in the vlog without blaming anyone. So kindly, please avoid hyping this up,” he stated.

Apart from discussing the prize money, Khanna also reflected on how winning Bigg Boss 19 has affected his life.
The actor shared that the reality show has brought a personal transformation, especially in how audiences recognise him.
“For an actor, it feels really special when people know you by your real name,” he said.
Khanna explained that earlier fans mostly associated him with the characters he portrayed on television. However, after winning the show, people have started recognising him as Gaurav Khanna rather than the roles he played.
“Bigg Boss has affected my life more on a personal level than in terms of my career. It’s still too early to say how it might change my work in the future,” he added.
From TV Characters to Personal Recognition
Over the years, Khanna became widely known for playing popular characters such as Abir, Sharman, Kavin, and Anuj Kapadia in television shows. Fans would often address him by these character names rather than his real identity.
However, things have changed since his Bigg Boss victory.
The actor recalled an incident during a recent trip to Dubai, where fans called out his nickname instead.
“Earlier people recognised me as the characters I played. But now things have changed. Wherever I go, even when we were travelling in Dubai, people were calling out ‘GK, GK, Gaurav’. For an actor, it feels really special when people know you by your real name after so many years of playing different roles,” he said.
