Washington, D.C., US– Garth Ennis, a well-known Irish-American writer known for his dark and gritty comic books like “Preacher” and “The Boys,” both of which were turned into popular TV shows, wrote the script for a movie version of his famous post-apocalyptic horror comic “Crossed.” The Hollywood Reporter said that the movie is now in post-production after finishing principal photography in Los Angeles. It stars Devin Druid from “13 Reasons Why” and Ash Santos from “American Horror Story.”
Devin Druid and Ash Santos play the important parts of Stan and Cindy, respectively. They play strong leaders of a gang of strangers who have to work together to escape northward from the terrifying diseased people known as the “Crossed.”
The movie is based on the first ten issues of the “Crossed” comic book series, which came out between 2008 and 2010. The “Crossed” franchise has grown a lot since it started. There are now more than 200 issues written and drawn by well-known writers and artists, including Alan Moore, who wrote “Watchmen.”
The movie “Crossed” takes place in a planet that has been destroyed by a frightening virus. People who get the condition have a clear cross-like rash on their faces that makes them stand out. But in “Crossed,” the people who are infected don’t lose their minds like they do in other zombie apocalypse stories. This scary twist means that they are not mindless zombies, but rather fully cognizant people who are led by their worst instincts, turning into sadistic, murderous maniacs. They kill, rape, eat people, and mutilate them for fun, turning cities into huge graveyards and almost wiping out all of humanity.
The movie’s cast of survivors who are on the run includes:
Ethan Jones Romero plays Thomas in “Law & Order.”
Kyla Hee plays Kelly in “Psychosis.”
Chido Nwokocha plays Kitrick in “Top Gun: Maverick.”
Spenser Granese plays Brett in “Dope Thief.”
Bob Morley plays Randall in “The 100.”
Ana Mulvoy Ten plays Sheena in “American Crime.”
Steven Hack as Geoff in “Little Death”
Lorenzo Ross is a newcomer as Patrick.
Owen Harn plays the scary villain Horsecock in Crossed, which is one of the most disturbing shows on TV. Fedor Steer plays Face and Kelvin Adekunle plays Stump, both of whom show how cruel and unrelenting the infected are. Angie Campbell plays Amy and Peter Falls plays Joel in the cast.
Six Studios, an independent company that bought the rights to the comic, is supporting the project. Rob Jabbaz is directing the movie, while Carl Choi of Six Studios is in charge of making it. Jabbaz is a good candidate for “Crossed” because he has worked on the dramatic Taiwanese horror movie “The Sadness,” which is about a virus that makes people violent. Fans of Ennis’s work and the horror genre are very excited about this adaptation because they want to experience the unrestrained violence of “Crossed” on the big screen.
