Gangster Linked to Dilpreet Baba Injured in Jalandhar Encounter

In a dramatic police operation near Adampur, a notorious criminal connected to over 15 cases was shot and arrested; narcotics and weapons seized. Intelligence-led action follows crackdown on espionage linked to ISI.

Jalandhar (Punjab) [India], May 20:
In a major breakthrough for Punjab Police, a gangster associated with the infamous Dilpreet Baba gang was injured and arrested during a high-stakes police encounter near Kalra village in Adampur, Jalandhar district. The accused, identified as Paramjit Singh alias Pamma, hailing from Binjon village in Hoshiarpur, is reportedly involved in over 15 serious criminal cases.

“Gangsters who think they can outrun justice should take note—Punjab Police will strike first and strike hard,” a senior police officer stated on the condition of anonymity.

According to police sources, a team led by DSP (Detective) Inderjit Singh acted on a tip-off and set up a strategic checkpoint in the area. As the accused approached in a Bolero pickup and noticed the police, he attempted to flee and opened indiscriminate fire on the team. The police retaliated, shooting him in the leg and apprehending him on the spot.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Harvinder Singh Virk, reached the location immediately after the encounter. From Pamma’s vehicle, the police recovered two pistols and a large quantity of narcotics, further tightening the noose around the region’s drug and weapons syndicates.

Espionage Foiled: ISI Leaks Busted in Gurdaspur

In a separate high-profile counterintelligence operation, Gurdaspur Police thwarted an espionage plot involving leaks of classified military information related to Operation Sindoor.

Acting on credible inputs, the police arrested Sukhpreet Singh and Karanbir Singh, accused of sharing sensitive troop movement and strategic data with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI. The leaks reportedly included details concerning Indian military deployments in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

Forensic examination of their mobile phones confirmed the espionage, and the recovery of three mobile phones and eight live .30 bore cartridges bolstered the investigation. A case has been registered under the Official Secrets Act at PS Dorangala, and deeper links to ISI handlers are now being probed.

The Punjab Police reaffirmed its solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces, issuing a stern warning that any attempt to compromise national security would be met with swift and decisive action.
