Washington, D.C.- After a picture from a recent meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung showed a big bruise on President Donald Trump’s hand, people are talking about his health again. Many people have shared the picture on social media since it was taken in the Oval Office on August 25. Many are worried about the 79-year-old president’s health.
The obvious marks are the most recent in a string of such events that have happened since he took office again. A few days before, people had noticed what seemed like a lot of makeup on his hand, which seemed to be there to hide the discoloration.
The White House has always given a reason for the bruising. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told The Independent that the official position is that “President Trump is a man of the people, and he meets more Americans and shakes their hands every day than any other president in history.” He shows his dedication every day without fail.
Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump’s doctor, talked about the problem weeks ago. He said that the bruising is “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen.” Barbabella also said that Trump’s “cognitive and physical health” was otherwise “excellent.” The White House has also confirmed that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a common ailment in elderly persons that can make the arms and legs swell and bruise.
Even though these answers have been given, people on social media keep talking about the bruises because they keep happening. People have said things like, “YIKES!” Donald Trump’s hand is very bruised today. What’s wrong with his health? and “There seems to be something very wrong with Trump’s health.”
The president hasn’t talked about the bruises explicitly, but he did make a joke lately about how his chances of getting into heaven may be better if there was a peace deal in Ukraine.
There have been a lot of other interesting things happening with the government lately, such the issuance of an executive order that makes it a crime to burn the American flag and sends people to jail for a year. This has caused legal and constitutional problems.
