French President Macron Extends Republic Day Greetings To India, Looks Forward To AI Summit With PM Modi

French President Emmanuel Macron extended warm greetings to India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the people of India on the occasion of the country’s 76th Republic Day.

Macron shared a photograph from his visit to India last year, where he was the Chief Guest for the Republic Day celebrations. Expressing his fondness for the event, he said:

“My congratulations to the Indian people and my dear friend Narendra Modi on this Republic Day. Fond memories of that great moment of friendship I shared with you in 2024. Looking forward to seeing you in France in February for the Summit on Action for Artificial Intelligence.”

PM Modi to Co-Chair AI Summit in France

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed that PM Modi will attend and co-chair the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit, scheduled in France from February 10 to 11, upon Macron’s invitation.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated:

“France is hosting the AI summit and French President Emmanuel Macron has invited PM Modi to co-chair the summit. We have accepted the invitation. You will be informed about any further updates regarding that tour in the coming days.”

Celebrations of India’s Republic Day

India marked its 76th Republic Day on January 26, commemorating the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1950, a milestone in India’s democratic history.

PM Modi extended his greetings on social media, saying:

“Happy Republic Day. Today, we celebrate 75 glorious years of being a republic. We bow to all the great women and men who made our Constitution and ensured that our journey is rooted in democracy, dignity, and unity. May this occasion strengthen our efforts towards preserving the ideals of our Constitution and working towards a stronger and prosperous India.”

He also shared pictures from the Republic Day Parade, calling it a:

“Vibrant display of India’s unity in diversity.”

The parade showcased India’s military prowess, cultural heritage, and rich traditions, with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as the Chief Guest.

Upcoming Republic Day Events

The Republic Day celebrations will continue with:

  • Beating Retreat Ceremony on January 29.
  • Bharat Parv, a cultural festival at the Red Fort, from January 26 to 31.
  • National School Band Competition featuring talented young musicians.

India’s Republic Day not only honors the nation’s Constitution but also celebrates its unity and diversity with grandeur and pride.
