New Delhi [India], December 2: Floor leaders of the INDIA bloc gathered for a crucial meeting in the office of Congress President and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, ahead of the resumption of Parliament proceedings on Monday at 11 am. The meeting was also attended by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, along with other prominent leaders from the bloc.
Congress MP K Suresh confirmed that the meeting of INDIA bloc leaders took place in the presence of Kharge at Parliament, focusing on strategies for the upcoming session.
After disruptions during the first week of the Winter Session, which ended on November 29, Parliament is set to resume on Monday. The proceedings had been stalled due to protests by opposition parties over the Adani controversy and ongoing violence in Manipur and Sambhal.
Congress MP Manickam Tagore submitted an Adjournment Motion notice in the Lok Sabha, seeking to discuss the Adani issue. “I seek leave to move an adjournment motion to discuss urgent public concerns, including allegations of corruption, bribery, and securities fraud involving the Adani Group,” Tagore said in his notice.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Imran Pratapgarhi gave a Suspension of Business notice in the Rajya Sabha regarding the violence in Sambhal and a plea related to the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
The Winter Session of Parliament, which began on November 25, saw early adjournments due to continuous disruptions. The session is scheduled to continue until December 20.
