Blaze in second-floor sauna room of Delhi hotel doused by fire services within minutes after an early morning alarm.
Delhi [India], July 13:
A fire broke out in the sauna room on the second floor of Dwarka’s Radisson Blu Hotel in the early hours of Sunday, but no injuries were reported, according to Delhi Fire Services (DFS) officials
DFS Assistant Divisional Officer Ravi Nath confirmed they received the emergency call at 12:17 am, and upon arrival found the fire contained to the sauna area. “The fire has since been extinguished. No casualties have been reported,” he said
The swift response by the fire brigade prevented further escalation. Crews acted efficiently, ensuring the fire did not spread to adjacent hotel spaces. The cause of the fire is under investigation by DFS, who are collaborating with hotel staff to determine the source and implement safety recommendations
This incident follows another fire in Old Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar, which occurred just a day earlier and required 27 fire tenders to control. In that incident, one firefighter was injured, but there were no civilian casualties
Together, these back-to-back fires highlight the critical importance of robust fire safety protocols in both commercial and residential settings across London and Old Delhi.
