New Delhi [India]: A fire broke out in a house at Dwarka Sector 16, Azad Nagar, in the early hours of Tuesday, and was successfully doused with the help of eight fire tenders, officials confirmed.
Fire Causes Property Damage but No Injuries
According to the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), the blaze damaged two vehicles, a grocery shop, and household items on the ground floor of the affected building. However, no injuries were reported.
Recent Fire Incidents in Delhi
This incident follows a series of recent fires in Delhi:
- Last week, a fire broke out at an e-rickshaw warehouse in the Goyla Dairy area of Najafgarh, affecting over 100 e-rickshaws. Four fire tenders were deployed to contain the flames.
- On February 16, another fire erupted in plastic scrap on the ground floor of a building in Shahzada Bagh. The Delhi Fire Service quickly responded, bringing the fire under control with two fire tenders.
Fire Safety Measures Advised
Authorities have urged residents and businesses to take necessary fire safety precautions to prevent such incidents, especially in commercial and residential areas prone to flammable materials.
