Ralph Fiennes Reflects On King Charles’ Visit To No Time To Die Set

Washington [US]: Renowned actor Ralph Fiennes, best known for his portrayal of “M” in the James Bond franchise, recalled the memorable visit of King Charles to the set of No Time to Die in 2021. Speaking to People, Fiennes shared insights into the unique atmosphere created by royal visits.

“The atmosphere changes when royalty visits a film set,” Fiennes remarked. “Even if they don’t literally button themselves up, there’s a bit of internal buttoning up that might go on.”

Fiennes acknowledged the mixed reactions to such visits, describing a spectrum of responses. “Some people say, ‘Oh… The Prince of Wales is coming. What a pain,’ while others excitedly ask, ‘Did you see him? What’s he like?'”

Reflecting on the encounter, Fiennes described King Charles as “warm” and “charming to meet.” Their conversation on set was “easy,” showcasing the monarch’s genuine interest in the film and its production.

King Charles, then Prince of Wales, also attended the London premiere of No Time to Die in September 2021, accompanied by Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.

About No Time to Die

No Time to Die marked Fiennes’ third portrayal of M, the head of MI6, following his roles in Skyfall and Spectre. The film, released in India on September 30, 2021, follows James Bond (Daniel Craig), who has retired from active service and is enjoying a peaceful life in Jamaica. However, his tranquility is disrupted when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA seeks his assistance in rescuing a kidnapped scientist. The mission leads Bond into a perilous confrontation with a mysterious villain wielding dangerous new technology.

Fiennes’ Upcoming Projects

After No Time to Die, Ralph Fiennes appeared in Conclave and The Return, which premiered in October and December 2023, respectively. Looking ahead, the actor is set to star in the highly anticipated horror-thriller 28 Years Later, alongside Cillian Murphy and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The film is scheduled for release on June 20, 2025.

Fiennes’ contributions to both the James Bond franchise and his diverse portfolio of roles continue to solidify his legacy as one of cinema’s most versatile actors.
